    About Clan Name Generator

Choose a style — crisp military/esports units, sweeping fantasy orders, shadowy stealth cells, or honor-guard names with a ceremonial feel — and get ten clan names at once. Each name comes with a short capital-letter tag derived from its initials, ready to paste into a game's clan-tag field.

Click any entry to copy the name together with its tag, or copy the whole batch. Generation happens entirely in your browser from original word lists.

    Common uses

    • Name a new clan, guild, or team before creating it in-game
    • Find a matching short tag without inventing one by hand
    • Generate rival faction names for a campaign or fan fiction

    Example

    Input

    Style: military / esports

    Output

Task Force Viper [TFV] · Arctic Gunners [AG] · Razor Company [RC]

    Limitations

    • Tags are simple initialisms; games with strict tag rules may need a manual tweak.
    • Check that a name and tag aren't already taken in your game or trademarked before adopting them for a competitive team.

    Frequently asked questions

How is the clan tag next to each name generated?

The tag is the initials of the name's significant words, uppercased and capped at 2–4 letters — filler words like "of", "the", and "and" are skipped, so "Order of the Ember Crown" becomes [OEC]. A single-word name uses its first three letters instead.

Do my clan names get sent to a server when I generate them?

No. The names and tags are built locally in your browser from word lists included in the page; nothing you generate is transmitted or logged.

Does the tool check whether a clan name or tag is available in my game?

No. It can't query any game's servers, so a generated name or tag may already be claimed. Check availability in-game before announcing the clan, and search trademark databases if you're forming a competitive team with sponsors or merch.

Will a generated tag work in every game?

Usually, but not always. Tags here are 2–4 plain capital letters, while some games enforce different length limits, require uniqueness, or allow numbers and symbols — so you may need to tweak the suggestion to fit your game's rules.

Can I get matching names for rival clans or factions?

Yes — generate batches in different styles and pick one name per faction: military for a strike team, fantasy for a knightly order, stealth for an assassin cell, honor guard for a ceremonial house. Each regenerate produces ten fresh names in the selected style.
