About Gravel Calculator

Enter length, width, and depth and get the gravel volume in cubic yards plus its weight in tons. Density defaults to 1.4 tons per cubic yard — a common figure for crushed stone — and is editable for pea gravel, river rock, or whatever your supplier quotes.

Common uses

  • Order the right number of tons for a gravel driveway top-up
  • Size a base layer for a shed or patio
  • Convert a landscaper's cubic-yard quote into delivery tons

Example

Input

20 × 10 ft at 3 in deep, 10% waste

Output

1.85 yd³ exact → order 2.04 yd³ ≈ 2.85 tons

Limitations

  • Density varies with stone type and moisture — confirm the tons-per-yard figure with your supplier
