About WebP to JPG Converter

WebP files saved from the web don't open everywhere. This converts them to plain JPEG using your browser's native WebP decoder — select several files, set the quality, and download each converted image.

Common uses

  • Open web-saved images in older software that lacks WebP support
  • Attach images where JPEG is the expected format
  • Batch-convert a set of downloaded product photos

Limitations

  • Transparent WebP areas are flattened onto white, since JPEG has no alpha channel.
  • Animated WebP is flattened to its first frame.

Frequently asked questions

Is anything uploaded when I convert WebP to JPG here?

No. Your browser's built-in WebP decoder reads the file and a canvas re-encodes it as JPEG, all locally — the images are never sent to or stored on a server.

Why won't some programs open WebP files?

WebP is a relatively recent format from Google, and older image editors, office software, and some upload forms never added a decoder for it. Converting to JPEG gives you a file that virtually every application accepts.

Does converting WebP to JPG lose quality?

Re-encoding to JPEG is lossy, so some quality loss occurs, but at a high quality setting it is rarely visible. Detail already discarded by the original WebP compression cannot be restored either way.

What happens if my WebP file is animated?

Only the first frame is converted, because JPEG is a still-image format with no animation support. To keep the animation you would need a format like GIF or a video container instead.
